Dr. Funicelli first gets a detailed medical history of the patient. He then proceeds to perform a thorough physical examination that allows him to locate where exactly the pain is coming from, how to treat it, and what the next steps would be in order to relieve it. Based on the examination, he can order various diagnostic testing if necessary to further treat the condition.
